Credits are the universal unit for all AI agent interactions on Upsolve. Simple queries use fewer credits, complex analyses use more — so you only pay for the compute you actually need. One credit equals the simplest possible AI response.

Credits are Upsolve's universal unit for AI agent interactions. One credit equals the simplest possible AI response (like a clarification). A typical analytical question — where the agent writes SQL, fetches data, and summarizes the answer — uses around 5-10 credits. More complex queries with multiple joins, charts, or multi-step reasoning use more, but Upsolve caps at 20 credits per query. Your credit usage is visible in real-time inside the platform so you can always track where you stand.
The free tier includes 2,000 one-time credits — enough for roughly 200 analytical questions. Once they're used, you'll need to upgrade to a paid plan to continue using Upsolve. Your data connections, agent configurations, and context engineering work are all preserved, so upgrading is seamless.
Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) means Upsolve engineers work directly alongside your data team — hands-on, in your environment. For Enterprise customers, our FDE team helps with two critical workstreams: building your semantic layer and data models in Cockpit, and encoding your institutional knowledge (business rules, KPI definitions, tribal knowledge) into agent context. Think of it as having Upsolve experts embedded in your team during onboarding and beyond, ensuring your agents are accurate from day one.
BYOM stands for Bring Your Own Model. Enterprise customers who run their own LLM infrastructure (e.g., Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock) can use their existing models with Upsolve. In this case, you pay your cloud provider directly for compute and tokens, and Upsolve charges a modest surcharge on top for the orchestration, context engineering, and agent tooling we provide. This keeps costs transparent and predictable — you can always see exactly what you're paying for Upsolve vs. your own infrastructure.
Yes. You can upgrade at any time — your existing data connections, agents, and context are preserved. If you're on an annual plan and want to upgrade mid-cycle, we'll pro-rate the difference. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Yes — annual commitments receive a 20% discount on the base fee. Pro drops from $500/month to $400/month ($4,800/year), and Team drops from $2,000/month to $1600/month ($19,200/year). Credit overage also drops from $0.05/credit to $0.04/credit. For Team plan, there is also an option to bulk buy credits at a discount. Enterprise pricing is always custom.
